Member Services:Technical Committee

The Technical Committee drives the technical initiatives of the PCI SA. It's current focus is the creation of a vendor-neutral PCI Reference Architecture which will consist of a general diagram that comprises the major areas of most organization's IT environment today - networks (perimeter and internal), systems, and applications. Specific technologies used to address aspects of PCI compliance (encryption for data at rest and in transit, Web application firewalls, access control devices and technologies, systems management tools, etc.) will be added to the diagram. 

Once the general architecture is developed and agreed upon by participating committee members, the focus will turn to best practices for implementation of the technologies, links to other references and materials, and specific details on how the technologies impact PCI compliance efforts.
